Ceremony with Announcement of Winner

Over 2,000 young film-lovers from 32 countries across Europe registered for this year's EFA Young Audience Award as jury members. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the originally planned theatre screenings had to be cancelled. The young jury members instead watched the nominated films online on Festival Scope.

Organised by the different partners (see list below), various moderated video groups allowed the young jurors to discuss the films in their respective languages before casting their votes. Connecting them across borders, international video conferences guided by German moderator Sascha Quade put them into contact with their fellow jury members across the continent, adding another European layer to the experience.

Moderated again by former YAA jury member Ivana Noa, the 30-minute awards ceremony was streamed live on yaa.europeanfilmawards.eu where it remains available to watch.

Joining her online in a virtual studio at her home in Belgium were the following guests:

MY BROTHER CHASES DINOSAURS
director Stefano Cipani
actor Francesco Gheghi (Jack)

MY EXTRAORDINARY SUMMER WITH TESS
director Steven Wouterlood
actress Josephine Arendsen (Tess)
actor Sonny Coops Van Utteren (Sam)

actress Luna Maxeiner (Rocca)

As well as four members of the international jury and EFA Director Marion Döring.
