Synopsis

Two children, Alexander and Voula, run away from home one evening and take the train to Germany in the hope of finding their father. They have never met him or seen him, but their mother has told them that he lives there. The children's travels — the journey, the encounters, the disappointments and hopes — become their introduction to the real world with its good and its bad, its truth and its deceit, its love and death. Director's Biography

Theo Angelopoulos studied Law at the University of Athens and then attended the I.D.H.E.C. film school in Paris. From 1964 to 1967 he was film critic for the Athens daily "Allagi". He made his first film FORMIX STORY in 1965.
