Synopsis

When their life in Moscow hits rock bottom, father and his 11-year-old son set off for a 1,000-km journey to the sea. For the father, the journey is an attempt to restore self-respect and win back the trust of his son. For the boy, the goal of the journey is the seaside town of Koktebel, where air-gliders fly in the ever-blowing wind. When in the middle of the road the father finds a place he would like to call a new home and a woman he thinks he loves, the boy runs away to complete the journey on his own ...

Director's Biography

Boris Khlebnikov was born in 1972. He graduated from the Film Theory Department of the Russian Film Institute as a writer and director.

Alexei Popogrebsky was also born in 1972. He graduated from the Psychology Department of the Moscow State University.

Together they have made the documentary MIMOKHOD (1997) and the short film TRICKY FROG (2000).
