Synopsis

HONEY BABY is a short-love-story, sentimental and comical, dark and bizarre, full of surrealistic moments. It is a magical mystery tour from Germany to Murmansk in northern Russia, inspired by the Greek myth of "Orpheus and Eurydice".

Tom (Orpheus) is an American songwriter and musician, who has ended up in Germany after many years on the road. He used to be an established artist, but in last years he has been lacking motivation and writing new songs and performing has become more and more difficult. He's ready to return back home, to America, but before that, he's obliged to make a club tour through the Baltic countries.

Natasha (Eurydice) is Russian. She has always dreamt of being a ballet dancer, but her career never took the course she had hoped. She, too, has come to Germany, to marry Karl (Aristaios), a wealthy businessman, who can offer her luxury and - a German passport. Her only problem is, that she doesn't love Karl. He, on the contrary, is obsessed by her. Just before the wedding, Natasha decides to run away.

Natasha's and Tom's paths cross in Kaliningrad. Neither of them is in the mood for falling in love, in fact they do everything to not let their feelings come into the surface, but they can't escape their destiny. In the bottoms of their lonely hearts they long for love and security. They both realize that they can't go on living the same way they've been doing in the past, a change is necessary. For a moment, desillusion is won by illusion, but then the snake enters the paradise and the past strikes back.."
