Synopsis

Using a pre-World War II novel as his source material but inspired by the martial arts movies of his youth, acclaimed Taiwanese director Ang Lee returns to Asia after making three English-language movies in the past five years. Set in the early 19*n century, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon centres on a martial arts supremo (Chow Yun-Fat) who plans to hang up his legendary 400-year-old blade, 'Green Destiny', which he entrusts to Yu Shu Lien, a close friend and warrior.
