Synopsis

Olivier is a joinery trainer in a social rehabilitation center. One day, the manageress of the center asks him to take a boy into his training group. Olivier refuses the application, pretexting that he already has too many trainees, and the teenager is put in the soldering workshop instead. Who is this teenager, Francis? Why, after refusing him in his group, does Olivier start following him wherever he goes, down the center corridors, in the city streets even as far as his apartment building? Why is he so interested in the boy? And what makes him so frightened of him?

Director's Biography

Jean-Pierre Dardenne was born in Engis, Belgium, in April 1951. Luc Dardenne was born in Awirs, Belgium, in March 1954. They made numerous documentaries. In 1975, Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne founded the company DERIVES, which has since produced some 6o documentaries, including their own. In 1994, they founded the production company LES FILMS DU FLEUVE.
