Synopsis

One morning, a young man boards an intercity bus on ist daily route to Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. He hijacks the bus at gunpoint and takes seven of the passengers hostage. In his left hand he holds a grenade. He turns out to be a 25-years old Albanian immigrant by the name of Helion-Senior. His control demands include a ranson of half-a-million euros and safe passage back to his homeland. The hijacking is transmitted live, on national television. For the next 20 hours a mild and at times breakly comic case ensues through Northern Greece.

Director's Biography

Born in Athens, Greece, in 1959, he moved to England in 1976 and graduated from the University of Keele (joint honours in History/Economics). He did his post-graduate studies at the University of Birmingham (Greek-Russian post-war relations).
