The Show
The script for this year's event is developed by Swedish-born, Berlin-based director/screenwriter Maria von Heland who was also part of the creative team for the 2008 European Film Awards. The set is designed by Iir Hermeliin, chief designer at the Tallinn City Theatre who, among many other designs, created the visual concept and production design for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002. The European Film Awards Ceremony is produced by EFA Productions in co-operation with Estonian Public Broadcasting (EER) and the European culture channel ARTE.
"There is always something new that has not been done before and very often it has to do with the city or country, where the Ceremony is taking place," says Marion Döring, producer and EFA Director, "of course, it makes a difference whether the European Film Awards are being presented in Barcelona or Tallinn, so let yourself be surprised!" Executive producer is Jürgen Biesinger and the production is directed by Andreas Morell to be broadcast across Europe.
